Nine First Lego League Robotics Teams Advance to Regional Tournament

March 3, 2022 - Nine Comal ISD First Lego League (FLL) robotics teams advanced to the Alamo Region championship tournament during the district’s qualifying tournament on Jan. 29.

Comal ISD will host the Alamo Region FLL Championship Tournament Saturday, April 2, at Davenport High School. The FLL competition focuses on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills and is open to students in grades 4-8. This year’s Comal ISD qualifying tournament included 31 teams representing all 18 elementary campuses as well as four middle school campuses.

Every year, FLL releases a new challenge based on a real-world scientific theme. This year’s challenge, Cargo Connect, teaches teams about how cargo is transported, sorted and delivered to its destinations. They must consider how to rethink transport cargo as more demand is placed on transportation systems.
