January 7, 2026 - The Smithson Valley High School Cross Country Girls Team came home with the silver medal, placing second in the 5A UIL Cross Country State Meet in November.
The team entered the meet as the state title holder and averaged three seconds faster than last year’s team, which shows how tough the competition was this year. The silver medaling team finished the season as the district and region champion.
“I'm incredibly proud of our team this year,” says head coach Trenton Hall. “They have worked hard and improved even beyond where they were last year.”
The seven-member team includes

- Addison Knibbe
- Lilly Koenig
- Aubrey Pozzi
The team, which is coached by Hall and assistant coach Jessica Aguilar, was recognized for its stellar season by the Comal ISD Board of Trustees during its December meeting.
